Our School
Dear OPLC Friends and Families,
Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year. We are excited to welcome our new families and students, as well as, our returning 1st and 2nd grade students.
Our mission for the Octorara Area School District, in partnership with community and family, is to foster a culture of high expectations where students are empowered to become lifelong learners who positively contribute to their communities. As the principal of the Octorara Primary Learning Center, I am honored to facilitate that mission. I am also thankful to have a highly qualified staff of teachers and instructional assistants who continue to integrate new and exciting instructional techniques into their everyday teaching to ensure a great learning experience for the children.
This is my eighth year as Principal at the Octorara Primary Learning Center and my 29th year working in the Octorara Area School District. It is a privilege to work and live in the Octorara community. My husband and I live in Gap with our 2 kids. My son will be a senior at the Octorara High School this year and my daughter will be a sophomore at the University of Pittsburgh.
Previous to being principal, I worked as a kindergarten and second grade teacher and was the Intervention Specialist. While in these positions, I earned my Master’s Degree from WCU in Elementary Guidance Counseling and another Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Immaculata University. My personal mission and Octorara’s mission statement are in alignment as I believe we can be learners at any age.
As principal, I pledge to provide a safe and caring environment for your child. If I can be of any assistance, please feel free to call or email me.
With Love and Kindness,
Mrs. Krista Lease
OPLC Principal
